Evaluate My Prior Learning

You can build a short list (up to 5 items) of your prior learning and experience credentials - college courses, examinations such as AP, CLEP, etc., certifications, military experience and training, etc. - and then click on Check My Credits to get an estimate of credits that you may be awarded by our Transfer Partner institutions to apply towards a program at that institution.This feature requires cookies to be enabled in your browser.

By creating a free account, you can build a more robust portfolio where you can save all of your entries and may be able to upload your transcript. You can see how your credits apply to specific programs and even use My Fastest Degree to compare multiple programs at one college for fewest remaining courses.

With an account, you’re able to share your portfolio information with the colleges that interest you by connecting with a college’s admissions and transfer advisors.

Instructions

Add courses you have taken at other colleges or universities. You can then see the transfer credit you may be awarded by clicking on Check My Credits.

  • First, select the Institution - start typing and select from the list provided> If your schools is not shown then finish entering it
  • Then enter the Course Number or Course Title - start typing and select from the list shown. If your course is not in the list, finish entering it.

Required fields are marked by a red asterisk, but you can add more information if you desire. A course must be linked and shown as matched (indicated by the green check mark) for that course to be evaluated by this portal.

If you have courses that do not result in credits, they will be included in the Non-Evaluated Credentials section. You should contact the institution or, if you have an account, use College Connect to have them evaluate these credentials for possible credit.

Employers DO NOT have access to your Profile until you choose to provide that access.

The Security and Confidentiality of your information is treated with the utmost care. Use this button to Grant (Enable) or Remove access to your Profile from potential Employers.

If you choose to Grant (Enable) access, Employers with accounts on the application will be able to search for and find you using your unique attributes.

If you do not choose to Grant (Enable) access employers will not be able to search for or find you in the system. You will still be able to search for Employers and Apply for relevant jobs (if the Employer has included an application link).
Current Portfolio

Start your story by building your portfolio. You can use Add to Portfolio to add courses, exams and tests, certifications, work experience, training, etc.

You can also upload your Virginia 2-Year College Transcript or your Military Joint Services Transcript (JST) and the portal will do a lot of the work for you. Click on Upload a Transcript and you will be directed to a page with directions on how to get these transcripts in a supported format.

Make sure to add any learning or work experience that's related to you. You never know, you may have experience that can be counted as college credits towards your degree!
