This program trains employees that help pharmacists dispense prescription medication to patients or health professionals. Such requests can come from hospitals, physicians, nurses or directly from the patient. Students are eligible to complete the requirements for certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses
Doing More With Your Degree Students will obtain a broad knowledge of pharmacy practice and be skilled in the techniques required to order, stock, and package, prepare, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Program Successes & Highlights Occupational Objectives include: hospital, retail, home health care, nursing home, clinic, nuclear medicine, and mail order prescription pharmacies.

Transfer Guidance Element What You Need to Know
Associate Transfer Degree Completion Students who transfer with a completed Associate degree will be awarded SDV 100 and will have their transcript evaluated for other individual course transfer. Students who transfer with a completed Bachelor degree from a U.S. college or university will be awarded SDV 100, ENG 111 and ENG 112. The transcript will be evaluated for other individual course transfer.
