Career Studies Certificate in Massage Therapy

This three-semester program prepares students to become a massage therapist. Graduates can take the National Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).

Outcomes

By the completion of this program, students will be expected to demonstrate an introductory level of competency in the following skills:

  1. Demonstrate introductory proficiency in performing various massage techniques.
  2. Explain the roles of equipment, safety, and ethics relevant to the massage therapy industry.
  3. Describe the position, movement, location, and identification of specific bony landmarks, joint structure and design, ligaments, muscle origin, action and innervation, and types of contraction.
