The Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Career Studies Certificate is designed to prepare students for employment upon graduation as technicians in the energy sector with emphasis on installation of solar, wind, and geothermal power generation systems. Possible employment options are Solar Power Technician, Wind Energy Technician, and Power System Service Technician.

Course work should be completed in the order it appears in the catalog.

  • Create a schedule for all required courses, pay attention to prerequisites and when courses are offered, complete your first math and English courses in your first year

Program Requirements Beyond Specific Courses Students receive a lot of hands on training throughout this program. There are several lab based classes that will cover topics such as basic electricity, energy efficiency, energy auditing, solar systems, and wind power systems.
Doing More With Your Degree Continue your education and earn an Associates of Applied Science degree in Electrical/Electronics. Many of the courses required for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency certificate will count towards the Associates Degree.
