AAS Degree in Administration of Justice
Associate of Applied ScienceRappahannock Community College
Encompasses the career fields of law enforcement, corrections, and private security. The degree is designed to meet both the academic and the technical needs of those employed in the field of Administration of Justice. This two-year program will provide knowledge and skills for the beginning employee as well as the more experienced employee desiring career advancement.
Outcomes
1. Exhibit knowledge of the three (3) major components of the criminal justice system and how they relate to one another. (Law Enforcement, Courts and Corrections). 2. Demonstrate an understanding of the definitions and elements of crimes and the burden of proof necessary for conviction. 3. Exhibit an understanding of the procedural requirements of the criminal justice system: from arrest, through final disposition and sentencing. (Probation, parole and incarceration.)
