ACCT203: Survey of Accounting
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of financial and managerial accounting and reporting. In financial accounting, students will learn the importance of accrual accounting and the accounting cycle, recognize the importance of internal controls, explore various depreciation methods, and gain insights into receivables, payables, sales, and debt transactions. On the managerial accounting side, the course delves into essential topics such as breakeven analysis, cost-volume-profit relationships, standard costs and variances, short-term decision making, and the analysis of costs of goods manufacturing. Students will apply their knowledge to case studies and learn the basics of navigating financial statements.
