Through class discussion and regular writing assignments students will gain an understanding and appreciation of literary genre. The course will also involve discussion and writing about how the elements of each genre ? including setting, plot, imagery, sound, and rhythm ? contribute to the meaning and effect of a literary work. *Prerequisite: ENG 102
