ENVS112: Environmental Sciences And Sustainability II

Three hours of lecture and three hours of laboratory. This course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to the scientific study of the earth with an emphasis on environmental changes and their implications. Topics focus on physical and geological dimensions, including rocks and minerals, renewable and nonrenewable energy resources, atmosphere and climate, and geologic hazards such as earthquakes and volcanoes. Special emphasis is placed on scientific literacy, using environmental examples to teach students how to explore, interpret, and analyze issues affecting the planet. A lab fee is required.
