Survey of the literature of the British Isles from the Anglo-Saxon period through the eighteenth century, emphasizing connections among representative works. Works/Authors may include Beowulf , Marie de France, Thomas Malory, Geoffrey Chaucer, Edmund Spenser, Thomas More, Christopher Marlowe, William Shakespeare, John Donne, John Milton, Jonathan Swift, Alexander Pope, Aphra Behn, and Olaudah Equiano among others.
