Introduction to earlier British literature with attention to selected works by authors including Chaucer, Shakespeare, Spenser, Donne, Milton, Dryden, Pope, Swift, and Johnson. English majors should complete this course before the end of the sophomore year. Prerequisite: ENGL 101. Three semester hours.
