EDUC321: Educational Psychology

A study of human growth and development (physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and moral) through the adolescent period. Other major topics include theories of learning, intelligence, motivation, higher level cognitive processes, and student diversity. Brain-based learning and 21st century frameworks are modeled through classroom practices. This course enables students to apply psychological principles to the educational process and classroom teaching. Units on assessment, measurement and evaluation; and recognizing, reporting, and responding to child abuse and neglect are included. Prerequisites: EDUC 220. Required course for all education programs. Offered fall and spring terms.
