Tidewater Community College
The Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in General Studies with a Specialization in Teacher Preparation (PreK-8) is designed for students who plan to transfer to four-year colleges or universities and seek a baccalaureate degree in Education (with licensure), specifically focusing on preschool through 8th grade. This program is intended to provide students who are interested in becoming a teacher with a general course of study that includes both general education courses and education-based courses. Students are provided with several course options to best prepare for transfer. Consultation with an advisor or counselor is recommended for guidance related to the preferred four-year college program they plan to attend.
Courses required for the A.S. degree are available on all four campuses.
